Holiday home in Gravdal, near Leknes

Haugveien 231 sits at Gravdal, about 1.9 km from Kartverket's registered point for the village and 4.5 km from Leknes in a straight line. Booking.com gives the house three tiles and calls the setting rural, with garden views.

The interesting number here is the ratio: 140 m² let to a maximum of four people. Two bedrooms each hold a large double bed, two beds are credited to the unit, and Booking.com's published room occupancy allows four. Two bathrooms serve them. That is a great deal of floor space per guest.

A sauna is built in — worth the price difference after a day on the Lofoten ridges. The kitchen is fitted, there is a washing machine and a flat-screen television, and a terrace opens off the house onto the garden. Parking is free, with a charging station for an electric car, and WiFi is free throughout.

Why stay here

A sauna of your own and 140 m² for four people, with a terrace over the garden and a charger for an electric car outside — five minutes from Gravdal and ten from Leknes Airport by Booking.com's figures.

Who it’s for

Two couples, or a family of four, who would rather have a sauna and space than be in the middle of a village. A cot can be requested free for a baby under three, but no extra bed can be added, so four is firm.

  • Sauna in the house

Things to consider

Arrival runs from 17:00 to midnight, with your time given in advance, and departure is by 10:00. Only four guests are allowed and no extra bed can be added, so the space does not translate into places to sleep. Pets are not taken, smoking is not allowed and parties are refused. Booking.com's facility list for the house is short and carries no bedding, towel or kitchen detail, so ask about what is provided. There is no guest score yet.
