Moskenes

Moskenes is a settlement on the south-east coast of Moskenesøya, in the municipality of the same name, whose administrative centre is Reine. It lies on the E10 between Reine to the north and Sørvågen to the south. Moskenes Church, a timber cruciform church from 1819, stands here.

The ferry Moskenes is the Lofoten terminal of Torghatten Nord's route Bodø–Værøy–Røst–Moskenes, which links Moskenesøya with Bodø on the mainland and with the islands of Værøy and Røst. Some departures run directly between Bodø and Moskenes, while others call at the islands, and timetables differ between summer and winter. Torghatten Nord warns that the route sees very high traffic in peak season and that travellers to Værøy and Røst are given priority when demand is high, and it recommends that people travelling between Bodø and Moskenes use the direct departures. Part of each sailing's capacity can be reserved in advance.

What is nearby Visit Lofoten suggests taking a bus from the ferry to Reine, Hamnøy, Sørvågen or Å. The Telecom Museum in Sørvågen, the Norwegian Fishing Village Museum in Å, and Reine with the Reinebringen trail and boats to Bunes beach are all on the same stretch of Moskenesøya.

Things to consider When a sailing is full, vehicles left behind stay in the queue for a later departure. Torghatten Nord asks travellers with reservations to use the marked lanes and to arrive well before departure.
