What the guide is

Lofoten Handbook is an independent guide to the Lofoten Islands in Norway. It publishes information to help you choose where to stay and what to do.

The guide does not sell travel. It is not a travel agent or tour operator, it takes no bookings or payments, and it does not arrange travel services on your behalf.

Accuracy of information

The details on the guide are researched against named sources. Each page lists its sources and shows the date its details were last verified. Prices, opening times, schedules, facilities and availability change, sometimes without notice, and a detail can be out of date between checks. Prices and guest ratings are removed from the guide once they pass a set age rather than left in place. Road, ferry and weather conditions in Lofoten change quickly, especially in winter.

Before you book or travel, confirm anything that matters to your plans directly with the property, operator or booking site. The guide's information is general and is not advice for your particular circumstances. Check entry, health and safety requirements, and road and weather conditions, with official sources.

Booking with other businesses

Booking buttons and links take you to other businesses, such as booking sites and properties' own websites. Any booking you make is a contract between you and that business, on its terms. Charnette Ltd is not a party to it and is not responsible for the services that business provides, its prices or its policies. How affiliate links work is set out in the affiliate disclosure.

Links to other websites

The guide links to other websites for information and booking. Charnette Ltd does not control those sites and is not responsible for their content or how they handle your data.

Content and photographs

The text, design and compilation of the guide belong to Charnette Ltd. You are welcome to link to any page and to quote short extracts with a link back. Do not reproduce substantial parts of the guide without permission.

Photographs belong to the photographers credited beside them and are used under their licences, including the Unsplash License. They are not covered by any permission given in these terms.

Availability of the site

The site may change, be unavailable at times, or be withdrawn. Pages may be updated or removed without notice.

Liability

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited or excluded under the law of England and Wales.

Subject to that, Charnette Ltd is not liable for loss or damage arising from reliance on information on the guide, from bookings or services arranged with other businesses, or from the site being unavailable. The guide is provided free of charge for personal use, and Charnette Ltd is not liable for any business losses.

Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring proceedings in your local courts.

These terms may be updated, and the date at the top of the page shows when they last changed.
