Guesthouse in Skrivarneset, near Leknes

This is a single room let in someone's house on Tore Hjorts vei, a few minutes from the centre of Leknes, and Booking.com classes it as a homestay. The room is 30 m², with one bed, a bathroom of its own and its own entrance.

A kitchen comes with it — an oven, a hob, a microwave, a fridge and a kettle — along with a sitting area, a sofa and a dining table, so it works for more than a night. The whole unit is on the ground floor and is described as hypoallergenic and non-smoking.

Children are not accepted here and the minimum age for checking in is 18, which makes it an adults-only booking. The garden and terrace are there to use, and the listing puts Leknes Airport 3 km away and Vestvågøy town hall under one.

Why stay here

A quiet, self-contained room minutes from Leknes and its airport, with a private bathroom and a kitchen rather than a kettle in the corner, and a garden to sit in.

Who it’s for

One or two adults passing through Vestvågøy who want somewhere plain and close to the airport. Children are not accepted at all, so families should look elsewhere in this guide.

Highlights

  • One 30 m² double room, bathroom of its own
  • Kitchen, sitting area and dining table
  • Private entrance, all on the ground floor
  • Garden and terrace
  • Leknes Airport given as 3 km away
  • Free WiFi and free parking on site

Things to consider

Children are not accepted and nobody under 18 can check in, so this is an adults-only stay; the fine print adds that a younger guest needs a parent or guardian with them at the door. Neither cots nor extra beds are offered. Check-in runs from 16:00 to 23:30 and check-out from 04:00 to 11:00 — and asked about an earlier departure for a 05:45 flight, the host said guests may leave whenever they need to. Pets are not accepted and smoking is refused. Only one room is let, so there is no fallback if it is taken.

The accommodation

One room let: a Budget Double Room of 30 m² with one bed and a maximum of two guests. A bathroom of its own holding a shower, a hairdryer, free toiletries, towels and toilet paper. The unit has its own entrance, sits entirely on the ground floor and is described as hypoallergenic.
