Explorers Cabin Lofoten

A hot tub with a view and a sauna, neither charged as an extra, at the end of a cabin that sleeps a group of six in three rooms. The beach is walkable: the property puts the nearest one under 2 km on foot and Hauklandstranda, the better known one, a little beyond that. Dogs are welcome.

Groups and families of up to six who want the whole building, a working kitchen and somewhere to sit outside in the cold. Two of the three rooms hold single beds, so a party of three couples would need to talk to the property first. Not for anyone travelling with a baby — no cot and no extra bed are offered — and the NOK 3,000 card deposit makes it a place for people happy to leave a hold on a credit card.

NOK 3,000 is held on a credit card as a refundable damage deposit on arrival, returned within seven days of departure once the cabin has been looked over. Arrival is a five-hour window, 16:00 to 21:00, with your time wanted in advance, and the cabin is left by 11:00. There is no cot and no extra bed, so six beds is the ceiling. Quiet is required between 23:00 and 07:00, and hen, stag and similar parties are not taken. The sauna is small enough that the property caps it at two. On winter roads, the property says the drive is normally fine but makes the obvious exception for weather.

One detached cabin of 100 m², let whole. Three bedrooms: two with two single beds each and one with a large double, five beds in total and two people allowed in each room. One bathroom with a shower, a private toilet, towels and toilet paper. Bed linen is provided. The living space holds a fireplace, a sofa, a seating area, a dining area and a flat-screen TV.

Heating, a private entrance, free WiFi and free parking on the plot. A hot tub and a sauna, both stated by the property to be included. The kitchen has a dishwasher, an oven, a hob, a microwave, a fridge, an electric kettle and kitchenware, and there is a washing machine. Outside, a terrace with furniture. The cabin is non-smoking.

Self-catering. Nothing is served at the cabin: the kitchen is the whole of it, fitted with a dishwasher, an oven, a hob, a microwave and a fridge, with a dining area indoors and a terrace outside.

Vågaveien 7 at Offersøya, the postal place on Vestvågøy's west side; Kartverket's nearest registered settlement is Vik, about 1.6 km off, and the municipality is Vestvågøy. The setting is rural, with sea and mountain views and Leknes 5.2 km away in a straight line.

Booking.com gives Leknes Airport as 11 km from the cabin, Vestvågøy Rådhus as 11 km, Lofotenmat Sa as 9.4 km and Borga Radarstasjon as 27 km. Hauklandstranda Beach is put at 2.2 km. Asked about driving in December, the property said the road is normally open and safe, weather permitting.
