Hiking and cycling are what Booking.com names as the things to do here. Parking costs nothing, Lofoten.com calls the wireless internet high-speed, and 871 guests have scored the place 8.2 out of 10.

Walkers and cyclists keeping the bill down, solo travellers who want a dormitory bunk, and families or small groups who would rather have an apartment with a kitchen and bathroom to themselves. Cots and extra beds for children under three are free on request; from five, children are charged at the adult rate.

Payment is taken before you arrive by bank transfer, with instructions sent after you book, so this is not somewhere to settle up on the day. Several of the cheaper rooms share a kitchen, a bathroom or both, and some upper floors are reached by stairs alone. Check-in runs from 15:00 to 21:00 and the property wants your arrival time in advance, though a host answer says a key can be left in the door for a late bus. Dogs are taken in some apartments and not in others, so name yours when booking.

Dormitories: a bed in a male dormitory room and a bunk in a female dormitory room, both 20 m². Bedrooms hold two to four single beds apiece and one living room has a sofa bed.

Upper floors are reached by stairs alone; some units sit entirely on the ground floor.

Wireless internet reaches the whole property at no charge and Lofoten.com calls it high-speed; parking is free, which a host answer confirms. A shared kitchen, a shared lounge and a concierge service are listed. Kitchens carry a fridge, an oven, a hob, an electric kettle, kitchenware and a dining table, and Lofoten.com adds laundry facilities. Some units have a private bathroom, others a shared one. Balconies, a patio and a terrace look out over the water, and there are barbecue facilities and a picnic area. Upper floors are reached by stairs alone; some units are entirely at ground level.

Self-catering. Rooms without a kitchen of their own use the shared one; the apartments and some rooms cook for themselves. Kitchens come with a fridge, a stove and a dining area, in Lofoten.com's account. No restaurant or bar is listed, and Lofoten.com puts Ramberg town centre 6 km away.

Hovdanveien 46 at Fredvang, in Flakstad municipality, on the north-western corner of Moskenesøya as the property's own page describes it. Kartverket's registered settlement name here is Fredvang, 170 m from the door, and the point this guide uses for Fredvang is 200 m away. Booking.com records the setting as rural and puts Ytresand Beach at 1.9 km.

Booking.com gives Leknes Airport as 37 km, Nusfjord as 23 km, Lofotenmat Sa as 35 km and Ytresand Beach as 1.9 km; Lofoten.com puts Ramberg town centre at 6 km. Asked about buses, the property points guests at the Reis app and says the timetable changes over the summer. Parking is free.
