Why stay here

The cabins were built to house local fishermen during the peak fishing seasons and have been restored to keep their original character. Several have terraces facing the sea and mountains, and the larger cabins add a dishwasher and washing machine. The same operator runs car rental with pick-up at Moskenes and Leknes.

Bernhofbua and Bransnesbua are marketed to families, and the smallest cabins suit one or two people. The operator also markets a nearby work-away base to remote workers.

Things to consider

Meals are self-catered or eaten out: the nearest restaurant listed by the operator is Underhuset on Sakrisøy and the closest grocery shop is Coop Prix in Reine. The nearest liquor store is in Leknes, about an hour's drive.

The accommodation

Ten cabins, a 15 m² minivilla and Lofoten Villa. Smaller cabins (15–25 m², such as Minibua, Nilsbua, Olebua, Petterbua and Ravnkroa) have a private kitchen and seating area; Bernhofbua, Bransnesbua and Thesenbua (40–45 m²) have two bedrooms. Lofoten Villa, built in 1900 and renovated in 2012, sleeps five in three bedrooms with two bathrooms.

Free wifi listed for the cabins; washing machines and dishwashers in the larger cabins. The operator also runs car rental and a seaside campervan area on Olenilsøya.

Location

On Olenilsøya, reached by turning off the E10 after Sakrisøy when coming from Moskenes, or after the Hamnøy bridge from Leknes; 7 km from the Moskenes ferry terminal.
