Nyvågar Rorbuhotell

Nyvågar sits on the water at Storvågan on the edge of Kabelvåg, the area of Vågar, the medieval fishing town the hotel says is marked at the top of a medieval world map in Florence; an archaeological excavation lies next to it. Lofotspa has outdoor heated hot tubs, a sauna with large windows facing the mountains and Vestfjorden, and a floating jetty for sea dips in summer and winter. The Lofoten Loft Bar holds a collection of about 300 aquavits.

Travellers who want rorbu cabins with hotel service: a staffed reception, a restaurant and a spa. The hotel presents the hot tubs as a place to watch the midnight sun in summer and, from autumn to spring, the northern lights; sightings depend on darkness, clear skies and solar activity.

Breakfast is not included in the room rate. Lofotspa is charged per person, must be booked in advance, runs in two-hour visits and admits children over 12 with a parent. The hotel's own pages disagree on the Lofoten Loft Bar: the front page gives Fridays 17:00–23:00, while the bar and restaurant pages say it opens on request. Kitchens are also described differently: the front page says cabins only partly have their own kitchen, the rooms page lists a kitchen nook, fridge and microwave, and Visit Lofoten describes a fitted kitchen in each cabin. Reception is staffed 07:30–23:00.

30 fishermen's cabins, each with two bedrooms, duvets and hotel pillows, a Nespresso machine and a hair dryer; 18 stand on the pier and 12 on land, sold as with or without sea view. Visit Lofoten gives each cabin as 50 m² over two floors with a shower room and a living room seating four.

The apartments are on two floors, with the upper floor reached by stairs only.

Free Wi-Fi, parking (free, according to Visit Lofoten), Tesla and electric car charging, a guest laundry, bicycle and rowing boat hire in summer, and meeting and event rooms.

Restaurant Nyvågar serves dinner 17:00–22:00, combining northern Norwegian ingredients with international flavours, and a breakfast buffet 07:30–10:00 that is paid separately. The Lofoten Loft Bar serves beer, wine, spirits, aquavit tasting boards and aquavit cocktails.
