Kalle has served as a fish-trading post, post office and telegraph station, and it keeps its white main house and original rorbuer. The operator's pages date the place differently: the front page calls it a trading place from the 1890s, the About page says the original buildings are from the 1880s. It lies at the end of the road at the foot of Vågakallen, which the owners describe as away from the main tourist crowds, and the bay was used as a sheltered harbour during the winter fishery.
