Holiday home in Reine, near Hamnøy

Two things about this house are unusual enough to lead with. Booking.com's listing carries no WiFi at all — neither the description nor the facility list mentions it — and nobody under 18 can check in. For a house on Hamnøya, an hour and a half from anything resembling a town, the absent WiFi is the one to weigh.

The house runs to 100 m² over three bedrooms: a double in the first, two singles in the second, a bunk bed in the third, four beds in all. One bathroom serves them. Booking.com publishes a maximum of five guests.

Inside there is a fireplace, a flat-screen TV, heating and a kitchen holding a fridge, an oven, a hob and a tea and coffee maker — Booking.com calls it fully equipped in the description while listing it as a kitchenette in the facilities. Outside are a balcony and a terrace looking over the garden. Parking is free and private, and the house is non-smoking.
