Rorbu in Å

Å is the last village on the E10, and this is one of the places to stay in it: a compact yard of fishermen's cabins and apartments run by the family who own it, with around 35 beds between nine units.

The cabins take four to six — Buvåg and Høvedsmannen four each, Skårungen five, Hellvåg six — in a mixture of double beds and bunks, and two of them are insulated for winter. Four apartments named Kahytten, Blåmyra, Styrhuset and Sjarken sleep four apiece, and Omega, a boat lying at the quay, has two double beds for another four. Every unit has a fitted kitchen, a shower and a toilet, with WiFi and a television.

The yard also hires boats: an 18-footer with a 40 hp outboard and aluminium boats of 21 and 23.5 feet with 150 hp, and fishing gear to go with them. A skippered boat can be booked for sightseeing or fishing for up to twelve people. There is a grill hut, and space for a motorhome. A cleaning fee of NOK 600 is charged per stay.
