A rorbu in Henningsvær is a fisherman's cabin, or a flat inside one, in a village that was one of Lofoten's dominant fishing stations. Villa Lofoten's fisherman's cabin and farmhouse are at Kvalnes on the north coast of Vestvågøya, 41 km away by road.

Store norske leksikon defines a rorbu as a house in a fishing village used as lodging by visiting fishermen during the major seasonal fisheries, and says letting them to tourists has become common. Henningsvær once had around 60 fish landing and processing plants and now has a handful. Its population peaked near 994 around 1950 and stood at 517 in 2025, and in 2022 the village's cultural environment was protected by royal decree.
