It is the last address on the road out of Henningsvær, facing the sea, with a self-catering cabin of your own, a sauna and a hot tub on the pier to hire, and a reputation built over more than forty years of letting.

Self-caterers, including families who need two or three bedrooms and a kitchen, and anyone who wants to be in the village on foot rather than driving to it. Cots can be requested for under-twos, but no extra beds are offered, and dogs are not accepted.

On Booking.com the eight bookable types are a 16 m² Rorbu Twin-Room with a sea view (two beds), a 30 m² one-bedroom cabin (two beds), a 34 m² one-bedroom cabin with a sea view (three beds), a 34 m² two-bedroom premium cabin (four beds), a 36 m² two-bedroom cabin with two bathrooms and a sea view (four beds), a 42 m² two-bedroom cabin (five beds), a 44 m² two-bedroom suite with two bathrooms and a sea view (five beds), and a 50 m² three-bedroom cabin (six beds). The bedrooms listed hold two single beds apiece, one of them three, and none has its own bathroom in the listing's breakdown.

Booking.com lists some units as being entirely on the ground floor. No further access information is given.

Free WiFi, free parking and electric car chargers paid through a parking app. Each unit has a kitchen or kitchenette with a fridge, microwave, dishwasher, oven, hob, toaster, kettle, coffee machine and kitchenware, a dining table, a sofa and a private bathroom with a shower; a fireplace, air conditioning and a flat-screen TV appear in the facility list, along with a patio or terrace with outdoor furniture and shared barbecue facilities. A sauna and a wood-fired tub stand on the pier and are hired separately. Reception sells fishing tackle and snacks.

Self-catering: the cabins have their own kitchens and there is no restaurant or breakfast listed on Booking.com. Snacks and fishing equipment are sold at reception.

Banhammeren 53, at the end of the road through Henningsvær in Vågan municipality. Kartverket registers Henningsvær as a tettsted and the cabins stand about 400 metres in a straight line from the centre point this guide uses, on the seaward edge of the village.

Booking.com puts Engelskmannsbrygga wharf 1.5 km away, the Lofoten Aquarium at 20 km, and Svolvær Airport a 30-minute drive off. Parking on site is free.
