Sjøstrand Rorbuer

The cabins stand on a former fish-receiving station that buyer Johan Rist ran from the early 1900s, and they housed visiting fishermen during the winter Lofoten fishery. They look over Ballstad's inner harbour with steep mountains on all sides. The owning family, coastal fishermen, still run guided fishing trips in summer.

Travellers who want a working-harbour setting at a range of budgets, from tent pitches and shared rooms to cabins.

Accommodation has been leased to Global Rental Hub since November 2025, so bookings, prices and what is included may differ from older descriptions; contact them to confirm. The fishing trips are run separately by the owners.

Traditional cabins (rorbuer) and cottages, hostel-style rooms with shared showers and toilets, about 15 caravan spaces and 8–10 tent spaces; tent guests have a small shared kitchen and common room. The owners' about page lists 7 cabins, 5 cottages and 3 extra bedrooms, written before the lease.
