Groups and families who want a whole cabin with a kitchenette and do not mind hiring linen, and travellers on a budget who would otherwise be in a caravan or a tent — both are catered for on the same site. Anglers too: the owning family runs guided fishing trips in the summer season.

Linen and towels cost extra unless you bring them, and NOK 2,000 is taken by credit card on arrival as a deposit against damage, and returned after the unit has been looked over. Sleeping places are a mix of single beds, a bunk and sofa beds in living rooms. Units have a kitchenette with a fridge, microwave, stovetop, kettle and kitchenware, a seating area with a sofa, a dining table, a patio or terrace and a private bathroom with a shower; a dishwasher and an oven are listed in some. The owners' own site counts seven cabins and five cottages plus three extra bedrooms, fifteen caravan places and eight to ten tent places.

Booking.com records some units as sitting entirely on the ground floor. No wheelchair-accessible unit is listed.

A sauna, free WiFi, free parking, a picnic area, outdoor furniture and an outdoor dining area. Units have heating, a private entrance and a drying option; a washing machine and a tumble dryer are listed, and the owner says both can be hired. A shared bathroom is among the facilities, and some units sit entirely on the ground floor. The property is non-smoking.

Self-catering. Each unit has a kitchenette, and a dishwasher and oven are listed in some; a television sits in the shared reception. No breakfast or restaurant is recorded on the listing, and central Ballstad is a five-minute drive away.

The quay looks over the harbour with steep ground on either side, and both sea and lake views are recorded.

Booking.com puts Leknes Airport 11.5 km away and describes the property as a five-minute drive from the middle of Ballstad. No bus or transfer arrangement is stated.
