Everything a fishing trip needs in one place — boats, guides, a sauna, a restaurant and a shop — on the harbour at Ballstad, with units that run from a cabin for two to an apartment for ten.

Anglers first, and after them families and groups: the lodge points its studios and smaller cabins at couples and families with young children, and its largest apartments at parties of up to ten. Travellers without a car can take the 766 bus and walk the last few hundred metres.

Several units are open loft studios reached by steep stairs, which the listing says in the unit names themselves — worth reading before booking with small children or stiff knees. No cot and no extra bed is available anywhere on the site, and children from three are charged as adults. Pets need asking about and carry a cleaning charge. Arrival closes at 22:00. One unit is recorded as wheelchair accessible; the rest are not.

Eleven unit types. Studios and designed mini cabins of 20 to 25 m² sleep two to four, most of them open lofts reached by steep stairs. Apartments of 40 m² sleep four or five, a 50 m² superior with sea and mountain views sleeps six, and 80 m² apartments — one with three bedrooms, one split-level — sleep seven and ten. A 60 m² traditional family loft cabin sleeps four. Bed layouts recorded include large doubles, twin singles, a single with a double, bunk beds and sofa beds. Bathrooms are private, with a bath or shower; some units add a second bathroom or toilet. The lodge's own site describes three cabins sleeping six to eight, among them Annebua with three bedrooms and two alcoves.

Booking.com records one unit as entirely wheelchair accessible and another as wholly on the ground floor, while several of the studios and mini cabins are open lofts reached by steep stairs.

Heating, private entrances, soundproofing in some units, hardwood or tiled floors, desks, sofas and seating areas. Kitchens and kitchenettes hold an oven, a hob, a dishwasher, a fridge, a kettle, a coffee machine and kitchenware. Outside there are balconies, patios, terraces, outdoor furniture and dining areas, with sea, mountain, garden and harbour views. On the site: a restaurant, a bar, a coffee house, a minimarket, grocery deliveries, packed lunches, kids' meals, special diets on request, barbecue facilities, a sauna, boat hire and guided fishing. Parking and WiFi are free, and there are electric car chargers.

HEIM opened in 2020 and seats fifty, cooking seafood and international dishes from local ingredients, with vegetarian, vegan and dairy-free options on request; there is a bar and a coffee house alongside it. Guests who prefer to cook have a kitchen or kitchenette in the unit, a minimarket on site, packed lunches to order and grocery deliveries.

The lodge is at Oppsaattveien 10-12 on Ballstadøya, postcode 8373 Ballstad, in Vestvågøy — 383 metres from the settlement Kartverket registers as Ballstad and 0.4 km from the centre this guide uses. Booking.com marks the setting as rural, with sea and harbour views from the units.

Booking.com states three distances: Lofotenmat Sa at 8.4 km, Vestvågøy Rådhus at 11 km and Leknes Airport at 11 km. The lodge directs guests without a car to bus 766 towards Ballstadøy, alighting at Moloveien a few hundred metres away.
