Horseid beach
A remote sandy beach at Horseid on the north coast of Moskenesøya, at the site of an old settlement inside Lofotodden National Park. There is no road; Visit Lofoten points to the local boat from Reine to Kjerkfjorden for reaching this side of the island.
Rules
- Camping. Camping is allowed in Lofotodden National Park on hard-wearing ground, at least 150 m from inhabited houses or cabins, for no more than two nights in the same spot.
- Drones. Drones are banned in Lofotodden National Park under the park's protection regulation (§ 10), unless the management authority grants an exemption. Visit Lofoten's drone guide names Horseid Beach.
- Fires. Lofotodden National Park allows fires only on the sand or at established fire spots, never on vegetation or bare rock, and reminds visitors of the general fire ban from 15 April to 15 September.
Getting there
No road. The Reinefjorden passenger boat runs from Reine to Kjerkfjorden (Kirkefjord in the Reis Nordland timetable), which Visit Lofoten names as a way to explore the north side of Moskenesøya.
Facilities
None listed. Lofotodden National Park says there are no toilets inside the park and asks visitors to carry out all rubbish.
