Thon Hotel Lofoten

A room on Svolvær's square with the Hurtigruten quay outside, breakfast included, three bars and restaurants on site and free use of a gym in town.

Anyone arriving by coastal ship or bus, families who need a room for four or an apartment suite for six, guests who need an accessible room, and travellers with a dog or a cat. It is also the town's main conference hotel.

Parking is paid, whether in the garage, on the street or in an accessible bay; electric car charging is nearby rather than on site. Check-in opens at 15:00 with photo ID and a credit card, and check-out is by 12:00. Cots and extra beds cost NOK 100 per child per night up to the age of 12 and NOK 300 per person per night from 13, and children from 18 pay the adult rate. Dogs and cats are allowed in some rooms only, at 40 EUR. Booking four rooms or more brings different policies and supplements. A hotel on the square with a pub and live entertainment on site is not the quietest address in town.

Booking.com adds a Corner Suite at 24 m². Rooms carry a flat-screen TV, a minibar, a safe, a desk and a kettle, and the standard rooms are hypoallergenic.

Thon lists an accessible room type with easy access, extra space for a wheelchair and grab bars by the toilet and shower, along with lifts, a lift with braille, a flexible alarm system, anti-panic lighting, assisted listening, wheelchair access and accessible parking.

Breakfast is included and served as a buffet from 06:30 to 10:00 on weekdays and 06:30 to 11:00 at weekends; Thon lists breakfast awards for the hotel at both county and national level. Restaurant Paleo Arctic opens 18:00 to 22:00 Monday to Saturday, the Styrhuset pub runs into the early hours, and the Molldøra lounge and bar opens 17:00 to 22:00 Monday to Saturday. Thon gives 6 km to Svolvær Airport at Helle and 164 km to Harstad/Narvik Airport at Evenes. The Hurtigruten coastal ship docks just outside the hotel, and the reception says the taxi ride from Svolvær airport into the centre takes about ten minutes.
